As the dawn breaks
Sound of conchs and cymbals
Fills the air
Colored festoons are
Hung around the town to show
It is a great fair
People are in a happy
Mood with friends and relatives
Visiting places
Kids with their siblings
Enjoy company of the friends
In new dresses
Soothing essences flit
Across streets and prayers are
Chanted aloud
This is the culture we
Have grown up in and for this
We all feel proud
