From amidst thick foliage, At the time, when dawn breaks, Giving a crimson hue to the sky; Soft sound of a bird shaking Its feather arises and towards Swaying treetops it does fly; From over a running stream, At the time, when a cool wind Rises to rush fast towards land; Girls with pitchers balancing on Their waists, walk down to fetch Water, take rest a while on the sand; From across green meadows, At the time, when a tune comes Floating from a shepherd’s flute; The old man on the verandah After coughing hard to kill the cold Stares at the sky, silent and mute; From a chain of undulating hills, At the time, when a flood of Light cascades down upon plain; It is time for cattle to move in a file, To the field to graze, following it walks Slowly a group of men and women. @ Anil Kumar Panda 09/12/2015
