Writer or poet
Whoever you may be
Responsibility’s with you
In whatever you write
And reaches the reader
For written word’s believed
To be true even if
It’s all utterly untrue.
It goes without saying
Every page of writing
That gets out of hand
Needs to be checked and rechecked
For accuracy and correctness
Mockery, if any, all removed.
That’s the real way of paying
Respect to the reader
And it’s the only way to see
The writings’ll live long.
