The older I get,
everything becomes
a vanishing act.
Friends disappear
in the distance of work
and obligations.
Family disappear
to the gentle arms of the grave.
And now, I don't even desire
to embrace a woman
because I know
my ability to fall in love
has abandoned me to no less of a degree
than everything else.
