A Billion Year Old History

Beneath the barren high ways Broken bones laid in peace, Tears never shed by anything, Cries never heard by anyone. Beneath the short skyscrapers, Parties once held on swaying trees, For the birth of babies of weapon less, Gala during sunset and sunrise, Beneath the murky water filled dams, Once upon the time homes of the tribes, Their guests of plants and sand pipers, Suddenly Drowned for ever someone to prosper Empty roads taken with no sign boards written, Crooked gatherings where verses repeatedly spoken, To the deaf ears of millions of slippery serpents, Rituals enacted with utterly devoted respect, Come out of our cocoon where we feel soundly safe, From the poisonous flower grown from the lab, The seeds are strong to pierce through the walls, Gasping for air and uncontrollable sorrows, Well immersed in the ponds of ourselves, With a phone in the hands and schemes in the hearts, Planted the money on the soil less field of greedy, Withdrawn papers left us with nothing On the balconies of six sense tragedy, Six-foot mightiness devoid of any more bullets, Gathered together to rekindle the lost fire, Unmet eyes will not meet non-existing human A little family with too little fingers of future, Wading through the manmade hills of adventure, Laughing heard, children cried; parents are awake, Humanity alive to profess the great victory of snakes.
