The Faithful Moon

Winter skies clear and bright
On a cold and quiet night.
The faithful moon all aglow—
Celestial lunar traveling slow.
It trots across the heavenly,
This lantern of the galaxy,
Reflector of the hidden sun
That rules once daylight’s begun.
The blizzard with its sounding hoofs.
Icicles hanging from the roof.
It matters not ‘tis wintertime
When frost, and snow, and harsh cold chime.
Tomorrow be it sun or rain
The moon will do it all again.
