Winter’s Soon To Come

Soon the winter will come calling again.
And the chilly winds will blow.
The birds will rise up and fly away south
Avoiding possible snow.
Soon the winter will come calling again;
It never misses its chime.
But faithful as the stars in their courses,
Always arriving on time.
Soon the winter will come calling again.
And my ears are bent to hear
The wind, the chimes, and the icy-cold rain
That come to visit each year.
For the trees will bare and flowers wither
E’er the winter comes hither.
