If We Could See As Children See

If we could see as children see And could look upon this world Through the innocent eyes of a child, Then it would surely be a better place. For those eyes have seen no pain, Those eyes have seen no bloodshed, Those eyes are trusting and caring, And only see what they choose to see, The good, And not the bad. They see the flowers that grow Within the garden, And are fascinated by their beauty. They water them and tend to them And they weep when they fade and die. While we crush them underfoot, Without a thought or care, And then we wonder Whole stole the beauty Of the world in which we live? 2011
