You Spoke Through Silence

We were lying on sand Side by side. Moonlit starry sky above us And silence draped earth below. Wind was whistling from time to time But we did not speak a word. We did not have to. Yet, we could hear each other's words Loud, Crystal clear. After a while You rolled over, Looked at me And smiled. I smiled back. When we stood up You kissed my lips Softly Tenderly. And then walked away. And then I found My heart was singing those words You spoke through silence. © Arun Maji Painting: Joseph Karl Stieler
