The road bifurcates it From the township Leading to the country Through the hills Clustering around, Passing through the woods That lie on the midways, The ups and downs Of the highland tract To reach the hamlet home Which lies by The bank of The rainy time river. When a child I used to hear The lions roaring, The wolves straying into, The jackals howling at eve And slipping away, The porcupines At the foothills, Now how bereft of, Barren and denuded Look they, Treeless and rockless, Those tribal areas.
