Which of your poems shall
I memorize first? Which poem shall
I place near my heart, so that
both heart and poem share a rhythm,
and both blood and verse serve
the same purpose, to keep me alive,
and strengthen my resolve to make
Love the center of my being. My heart
and your poem will blend into one being,
and all of me - body and soul, heart
and mind, flesh and spirit - will rejoice
as your poems pass by my inner sight.
