A Friendship Awakens

Sometimes it takes many years for a friendship to awaken. Many heartaches lay behind in its wake as years go tumbling by. Then suddenly the friendship awakens and grows and grows and grows. Feelings extend along a path that was never there before. A wealth of unconditional love opens many doors and your arms stretch out to embrace what should have been there before, but will never subside again. 27 October 2008 The poem was written for a very special friend whose friendship took over forty years to awaken.
