Why Take Yourself Too Seriously

On praise it is true the ego does grow fat But why take yourself too seriously life is too short for that There is more to living of life than the me, myself and i Since like all other life forms we are born as mortals eventually for to die The one who does not respect big Egos or money or fame The Reaper of Lives treats all lives as the same Like the pauper for the monarch and the president a last night and day There are not any Egos where dead people lay The celebrated deceased of every village, city and town Do not hear the words of praise from those who honor their renown In a World where many their own praises like to sing Those with some humility are blessed with what is a good thing So why take yourself too seriously since your life journey does end We are born as mere mortals why otherwise pretend.
