LOVE People’s heart do you repair And make two a pair Chasing the mind’s stink Through the heart’s sink Ignorant thou art Make us feel Everything is for us And forever: The moon and the moonlight Churning oceans and streams of light You hold no grudge Nor wish vengeance You tune mirthful melody In the hearts of melancholy You laden the sorrow of heart You make a heaven on earth (written on 11.11.71, the first documented poem of mine) THE ETERNAL CRY I weep I cry But why do i? No reason Crying into the wilderness of myself Of the sorrowful joys And joyous sorrows Of man caught behind bars Of time, of life, of death Caught by the cop Smashed under a train Dropped from the air of dreams It’s all one long futile cry Embracing the Himalayas Flowing down Ganga It fills the earth Echoes through the oceans And comes back sharper than before The Thar within heightens with the simoom A single death Cannot freeze it. (Written on 1.3.79) PURSUIT IN VAIN I saw the great Arjun Building the bridge of arrows From earth to heaven I tried to walk on But tumbled down Arrows piercing me The brain the heart and all Blood dripping through An aching bleeding heart And dropp into salty oceans Swaying on the waves Struggle I to reach the shore Human that I’m Gulped by a greater wave Found myself a watery grave (written on 20.4.79) THE WORLD AND I This world never thinks What it does And never does What it thinks Weeps When it has to laugh Laughs When it has to weep Sees When it has to hear Kisses When it has to kick It goes on and on Am I not a part of it? Am I not a hypocrite too? (written on 20.4.79)
