Days Of Innocence

Through leafy woodland we wandered
when we were young one day...
among the purple columbine
which was pictured in wild array.
Walking past white and pink roses
Soft breezes caressing us there,
the scent of sweet lavender lingered
across the afternoon air.
We sat in the shade of the maple
enjoying a country cream tea.
Oh these were the days of innocence
when we knew not our own destiny.
