Poem For A Child

Jenny was such a demure little girl And idolized her Winnie the Pooh. Whenever she was sleepy and weary No other true love would do! Winnie was looking quite old and shabby, With ears all ragged and torn. So we bought a brand new Winnie the Pooh And gave him to Jenny one morn. Now, dear Jenny cried, day after day For her true love who was ragged and torn. But alas, old Winnie was thrown in the bin, We were all distressed and forlorn... We searched through that bin so carefully, And much to our utter surprise! Poor Winnie was spotted amid the rubbish Looking up with eager brown eyes. His fur we cleaned as fast as could be Wrapped him in a soft cosy sheet, Handed him back to sweet little Jenny. Her delight made our lives and our happiness complete.
