Sally Daydream

Pretty Sally Daydream was going to the Ball; not thinking for a moment that ice-cold snow may fall. And like Lucy Gray before her she wandered all alone, but the path was very strange, winding, and unknown. With clothing dripping wet and hairstyle hanging low, she wept just as she stumbled into the cold cold snow... her frozen body lay there, but unlike Lucy Gray she was spotted by a shepherd lad early the next day. The death of Sally Daydream was a shock to one and all; and saddened were her friends who'd been dancing at the Ball ~ for little Sally Daydream set all the hearts afire... as did that child Lucy Gray who was missing in the mire. Across the moor and mountain still floated down the snow; the weather more befitting a Canadian Eskimo! And the body of Sally Daydream in the funeral limousine slowly disappeared from view into the arctic country scene.
