The Long Hot Summer

He met a sweet genteel maiden out where the bluebells grow; romantic first love came their way where the silent waters flow. 'Twas during the long hot summer; he remembered it oh so well, they both threw caution to the winds as deeply in love they fell. They sat on the banks of the river, walked through the fields and glen, picking wild foxglove and heather and stealing a kiss now and then. In June, church bells were chiming; at the Altar two hearts vowed their love forever to belong to each other, high mountains they could rise above. First love had become a rhapsody, a beautiful serenata for two... and romance in the long hot summer endured a whole lifetime through.
