The Onion Man of long long ago
would call on a regular basis.
'Do you need any onions today'
he would say...The question
brought smiles to our faces.
He continued ~ 'Liver and onions
go well together, no need to be
clever, the are simple to cook
just refer to the book.'
If we hadn't the cash at hand
he'd come back on the morrow,
everything planned! On leaving,
he would always repeat the phrase:
'Enjoy your health-giving luncheon
today, the liver and onion way.'
