Riding With The Cowboys

I dreamed I rode the hills with Cowboy Ron,
and Smoky Hoss was there to ride with us.
Bri Edwards tried, but he could not stay on
his horse, so we left him, causing a fuss.
We rode through quaking aspen's yellow gold,
their leaves just shimmering in pale morn light.
The sun was not yet up, and it was cold,
then it rose in the east, so bold and bright.
We rode through open meadows, lush with grass,
past lofty pinyon pines and brushes gray,
through narrow trail ways, difficult to pass,
and all remarked it was a glorious day.
Then Susan showed up, gave Cowboy a wink.
He spurred his horse and was gone in a blink.
