Sweet Nothings

Many years ago. Before lies to tell, Became white when told. They were sweet nothings. An innocent manipulating of truth. To pursue. But not often used to do. Today? Those sweet nothings have become disgusting. And a challenge to keep from cussing. Like everyone these days seem to do. As if a natural part of the English language. And just yesterday it seems, Everyone knew when Dick and Jane... Went to fetch a bucket of water. That wasn't all they went to fetch. Or... Was that Jack and Jill? Who went up a hill. Either way. There is very few sweet nothings done today. Without someone up to doing some devilment. And caring less who pretends not to know.
