Before I knew how do it,
I did it all the time.
It was my addiction.
Before I understood its flow,
Its workings on my nerves,
It was my love.
It was my song and my cries,
my smiles and my tears.
It followed with me unaware
that it was following me.
Before I saw its truth,
It sunken roots, and sun-washed flowers,
It was my lover.
