Come Fly With Me

I sit here surrounded by four walls
Filled with graffiti and stains,
In the center is a door with a window
Looking out toward the River Seine
I'm reminded of a dance hall in Paris,
It was painted in three shades of blue;
The women came to dance the CanCan,
And the men just came for the view
During the war I spent four days in Berlin,
The men were so attentive and gallant;
I recall dancing barefoot on the bar,
While three soldiers made a toast to my talent
Then there was that cafe in Vienna
Where the waltz is all they would play;
They didn't allow dancing, but I changed that,
Ah, that's a story for another day!
Oh, I have to get back to that dance hall
On my flying carpet of dreams;
Say you'll come with - I'll arrange it
(We'll tell everyone it's not what it seems)
I want to make love by the River,
The only witness being the wind;
And I'll save it in my scrapbook of memories
(It's worth saving if you think you've sinned)
Then we'll head back to that dance hall
And we'll dance like never before;
We'll drink wine, and whatever they give us,
'Til we can't tell the ceiling from the floor!
By now, you're realizing my folly,
And that I'm lying with every breath;
Please, don't judge me too harshly,
Boredom has sentenced me to death!
You have to understand, I'm desperate,
I'm letting my imagination run;
My life is predictable and boring,
And this is just my way of having fun
