Love's Journey

Searching for love, he walked the path
No traveler's foot had found;
Out of the fog emerged the form
Of a love, long silent and bound
In almost an instant, the spell was cast
By every word that he said;
I heard his voice, his plea for love,
Like a moth to the flame, I was led
For just a moment our souls entwined,
And our hearts became as one;
He sang his song of longing to me,
This journey could not be undone
Like a rose to the sun, my love opens,
He has only to call out my name;
My robe of solitude falls to the floor,
I surrender to him with no shame
Forever in my life, now he must be;
An occupant I so desire;
He is to me as the bee to the flower,
As the heat that belongs to the fire
