What We Call Existence

The west wind had no business To call me in these late evening hours As I walked drunk of the elements Earth, air, fire, sky and an ocean of waters Life is a beautiful dream Enriched by rains On mountain tops Aroma of herbs Winds across the plains Prostrate I on the sands Of a moist barren land In prayer for this beauty That has been bestowed On me this shivering grass blade Without asking, undeserved May the night pass Unbridled with her starry show When seeds can burst and smile I will wake in the morn With dew dawning all over me Like a desert flower That has only smiles To offer to this world gone so wry Sing you west wind Sing you rains The seed has just broken its shell To smile and shine And that is me in a nutshell A soul drunken of world's drunkenness Is there anything other than it In this beautiful whatever That we call existence?
