A Day Of Wonder

Have you ever had a day of wonder Where anything was a possibility? Looking through the eyes of a child So fresh and new and free? Huge trees before the winter thaw Icy limbs struggle along Teetering a bit precariously As you hum your favorite song Oh look, there in the park is a statue Of a huge gorilla standing there A child engulfed in its arms So fragile, so sweet and fair You walk along further still A pond filled with ducks and ice But the sun is gleaming down And makes the day so nice Brilliant red berries with a backdrop Of red rock that we love so It’s truly a day of wonder And we sort of hate to see it go!
