The Flowering Kingdom After Dark

Verdant forests have been felled Have fallen into a black velvet night Where the Judas ear fungus Thought it had found its piece of unobtrusive heaven But now the landscape is scorched Flash fires reside, burning both day and night A dire wind blows, charred but never silent. I guess this world has always been violent Like a jilted bride making her journey back home alone. Has always been a biblical quicksand. It's a mistress once held by the throat That now released hollers, I hold A poison-tipped dagger with a serrated edge Close by my breast, and tonight, when you sleep In what you would call the 'flowering kingdom after dark.' I'm going to cut your throat and end your miserable life. In some retrospect, in answer for all those inaudible voices You left, to crash and burn in a cataclysmic terror. As only to pamper a petulant cry, A dead-ruthless-heart that cast the first dye.
