Barely Made It In

While I have traveled across this nation Not once did I ever seek forgiveness or salvation, I have lied and I have cheated and I swore and I stole Seemingly hell and Damnation was my final goal. I have treated others the way that they shouldn't be treated Into the devils pack I was always happily greeted, People that loved me I didn't care to hurt Them I just used and abused and I treated like dirt. Then one day I truly saw the error of my way Then upon my knees for forgiveness to God I did pray, I then understood that my sins were my very own error I then knew there was a hell, and I felt the pain and terror. Unto God for my salvation and forgiveness, I did repent And then unto Heaven upon my death I was joyfully sent, When I arrived my friends and family were already there They said I was an answer to their continuous prayer. Into the gates of Heaven they believed I would never be seen Because I lied, broke promises, judged others and was obscene, But, now I know of true love and God's everlasting peace I also know from my soul that feeling will never ever cease. Then while in Heaven I visited all my family and friends I then told them how happy and grateful I am for making my amends, They too were grateful that into Heaven I was allowed As they had watched my sinning sadly from atop of a cloud. Then I saw their wings so very mighty and brilliant and large So, with query I walked up to St. Peter, the Angel in charge, I asked, "Why are other's wings so large and mine are so small and thin Then St. Peter said unto me, "it is because you barely made It in".
