For A Friend

When you were lost I held your hand;
The thought of you being alone I could not stand,
So, there I was standing at your side,
I decided then, that I would be your guide.
Though we are not family or even blood;
I will walk with you through the rain and the mud,
You clinched my hand as a cold wind had blown
When you need me; I will never let you walk alone.
Though you and I are not family;
Remember, I am your friend and not your enemy,
Whenever you are lost I will help you be found,
And I will pick you up, when you have fallen to the ground.
When I look at you I will always see a friend;
And I will be there for you until the bitter end,
When good times are heading your way, I will give a toast
And I will hold your hand; when you need me the most.
