I Am Gone

I wasn't blind, but I wouldn't see All the sadness that was happening about me, It doesn't take eyesight for anyone to comprehend When a soul just needs to mend. I wasn't deaf, but I still wouldn't hear All the sadness and the fear, I placed my fingers in my ears when people would talk Then I turned my back and away I would walk. I had a tongue, but I would not speak Even when the truth I knew that others did seek, When there was a problem I did not care As long as I wasn't involved, I had no despair. I had two legs, but I stood still When someone needed help and I could heal, I didn't use my legs to help or save I just used them to turn around and walk away. I had two arms at my side But, to help others I didn't, I did backslide, Even knowing with great assistance I could have gave Goodbye to them I would just wave. I once had a body, but now I am dead A sermon above me has just been read, God had given me a soul and a body to help everyone But, now I am forgotten and gone. Randy L. McClave
