I Still Remember

I still remember, As though it was the 25th of December, The presents and the love that I gave Memories I swore I would take to my grave. I bought her gifts and I took her to dinner I gave her a cake she became a grinner, To my one and only love I did say "Today it is your birthday." I still remember As though again it was September, My birthday once again had come And there sadly was no one. No one to sing me a song or give me a card No cake or sign in my yard, A birthday wish from her I had sought But, me she had forgot. I still remember It was the following November, Another lonely year had came Now I know where to place the blame. She is now nowhere near my side Sadly more tears I have cried, I now sing and whistle my own song; She did me wrong. Randy L. McClave
