Swollen Eyes

My swollen, tired eyes truly say it all And they weren't created by just a trip or a fall, And they weren't created by the pollen in the air But, by a snare. Now it's difficult & overwhelming having to make a decision Because, of this one and hopefully last collision, Sometimes you must believe and say enough is enough Even if it's with your last puff. There's a decision in which no one ever truly wants to make One in which you wish and pray you could just forsake, One in which you could ignore and forget But, it is now time for it. You are forced to let go of something you wanted to hold on for a lifetime Now it becomes just a silly rhyme, Now you are prepared and getting ready just to tear it down And momentarily you will wear sadness and a frown. You make your decisions while holding on tightly to your sanity And not onto guilt or remorse or vanity, You know what needs to be said and also done And you know from family and responsibilities you can't run. You need your peace while not losing your heart in the process Easier said than done I will readily confess, But, remember your worth is way too high to settle for lies And also to great to settle for disrespect and swollen eyes.
