The Closed Door

Who is that knocking at my door My clock says that it is 4, I remember what you had done once before I'm not going to open it anymore. I remember that familiar knocking So, my front door I am now blocking, My windows and my soul I am now locking As I feel as though you are now stalking. Knock, knock all that you want Do it as a tease, or even as a taunt, Or knock, as a caring display or as a flaunt Around my door you can hover and haunt. On my porch if you want you can stay there Your problems I do not want to know or bear Through my window at you I will not mock or stare And if you want, you can rest and relax on the porch chair. I remember once before I had let you in I have even forgotten where you had been, You had said that you have loved me once again But, of course you were full of lies and sin. My door is going to stay closed While I am staying calm and very composed, Lies and sins from you I have already supposed So, opening the door I am greatly opposed. Unto me you need not to ever confide Even if you knock and beg and forget your pride, Even if you have pleaded and cried My door is closed, and you're not welcomed inside. Randy L. McClave
