The Pest

I gave it a chance to leave I open my front door with a heave, Then I shouted staying in my house you couldn't But, leaving my house it wouldn't. So, for awhile I tried to ignore it's presence But, it took away my joy and pleasance, Whenever I sat down to eat It always wanted my dessert and my meat. When I went to bed at night It deliberately and seemingly kept me up with delight, It was so hard for me to sleep Sometimes I would solemnly weep. When I had friends or dates come over There it was just looking over their shoulder, Them also it would also pester But, of course it was no comical jester. So, I guess my mind just finally snapped To its lifestyle I would never accept or adapt, Then the waiting for my peace did begin As I waited to see it once and for the last time again. In front of me my weapons are all ready My eyesight and my nerves are both steady My soul and my conscience are now both debating As I sit on my couch, just waiting. I now wash its blood off of my hand As today we both made our final stand, I happily ended its life today When that pesty fly lighted, and it would not fly away. Randy L. McClave
