Hoping For A Second Chance

Years ago I let someone Get away from me Only now do I realize Back then, what I couldn't see I know that she loved me As she always told me so But I was proud and stupid As I just let her go I think about her often I even see her now and then I even sometimes ask myself Is there a chance we could try again? I do truly miss her But in my heart, I never let her go I had the chance back then But I wouldn't let my love show You always hear the story About the one that got away Well I'm here to tell you That's my story today Back then I wasn't thinking How shallow I could be They say looks aren't everything That sums it up for me She was a wonderful person In every conceivable way Thank God my stupidity Doesn't exist like that today If I ever get a second chance To show her how I feel I know one thing for certain My feelings I will not conceal What I'm feeling now for her Here inside my heart I hope I get a second chance To make a brand new start 10-22-20/RjH
