I Wait For Something Not Important

I wait for something not important To go to a place not important To spend an evening -not important- I suppose there are still things important Even in old age But tonight is not an important one And we are minor players or not really players In the event we are going to- I know I have never really been important And am not important now The world goes on a billion ways or more without me I am not important and what I am doing tonight is not important And these lines are most likely of no importance And yet I am happy writing them now And secretly believing that nonetheless despite all and somehow In some way Everything I am and everyone I love is important to God Perhaps I am wrong But that is my hope and my prayer Important or not important now.
