Watching The Sea From My Flat

the silence continues
for a few moments
as the first light of the
day enters the room
through the skylight
the fan stops whirring
power is gone; may be
morning time power cut;
the smell of burning
incense flits inside the
room as windows flutter
against the sea breeze;
not one, not two but
many a boat open their
anchors to set free to
roam the blue water;
the waves will sing of
freedom and liberty as
in the sands urchins
run to kill their hunger;
those who take out
money from purses
look at them in disgust
and squeeze their noses;
the smell of sea runs
in their blood and their
skin is like scale of fish;
as the sun gets ready to
take the plunge in the
western sea a fire
burn the water and
the lonely beach stares
at the sky for its share
of meteors to get lit up
