Hymns Of October Night Rains

October night rains
chattering in the trees,
the chill breeze
murmuring his prayers,
the owl in the fig tree
bleeding hymns,
sparrows and parakeets
having surrendered
themselves to sleep,
rains' sobs
reduced itself
to whimpers,
souls whine in the wild,
Life relegated to
borders of consciousness,
the voluptuous river
runs into the sands
of the eternal fire,
I cease to be innocent.
'The wages of sin is death'
and I die, my dumb heart.
