Finally! Finally! Finally! The bearded government kneels before the might of common man Whose livelihoods, Nay, lives itself, It tried to snatch. After a year-long struggle Sit-ins on the highways Poor farmers with Women in veils And little children all, Braving evil winter cold And abject pollution that gnawed at their entrails, Daring hot dry summer sun And haughty dust storms, Staring in the eyes of Negative fiery vitriol, Sparing the comfort Of a safe roof over their heads Far from the loving dear ones, Daring the tear gas shells, The lathis and guns, And all the bearded agencies Snooping on them all Imposing baseless false charges Including sedition et al, Finally! Finally! Finally! The farmers heave a sigh Of relief, as they win. The bearded grey arrogance Agrees to repeal the laws draconian.
