After a program of disaster,
an interlude of birdsong;
after implacable rendezvous
with virulent cutthroats of defeat,
a respite from unpleasant souls.
I'm learning to maneuver
my resistance to negativity,
to redirect all my energies
to something similar to sunlight.
I'm making a breach
in the wall of restricted personal growth;
I'm discontinuing any belief
that there's anything positive out of reach.
I constantly have to intensify
all my poetry of higher thoughts;
I have to conquer quickly
every unrelenting assault
from any merciless warrior of ill will.
