I regret I have to nullify some misconceptions That I find in most reviewers, that is so common, They have this thing about deserving such a notion That writers write for their entitled commendation. While some may write for purposes of public worship, Applause and vain words to feed their ego trip- Some do write simply because it's passion at their grip They write as artists do - whether or not there's plaudit. For the analeptic balm that writing may accord Flows out in rhymes and lines, perhaps a healing word, Therein lies the soothing antidote none can afford Releasing pain, heartache, stress and even discord. If writing will be a need that's so dependent On other's thumbs-up and their vague entitlement, Then it loses all that it can give the one who sent Words of heart that was for him, his own payment.
