With heavy heart, I let you go,
every night just before the dawn.
You can’t stay, though I wish you could,
but your home beckons you.
One day we will be together,
never having to part.
Never having to say goodbye,
just before the dawn.
One day you will wear my ring,
a little band of gold.
We will be together forever,
if God wishes it so.
Until that day comes along,
I’m just going to have to be strong,
and watch you disappear,
just before the dawn.
