The End

Your face no longer smiles, There is no twinkle in your eyes. There's not the innocence of the child, Almost as if your soul had died. But this was not your way, Your soul was happy, wild, and free. You never had a gloomy day, You were as cheerful as can be. And what has wrought this change, Upon your soul my life long friend. That it waxes mighty strange, Me thinks, you feel, it is the end. Oh that I could comfort you, But you no comfort take. Would that I had a magic brew, That the pain inside would sate. Mores the pity, and tis a shame, And I will miss your smile my friend. Your eyes seem to have lost that flame, This thing I cannot comprehend. 8/14/10 Alton Texas
