So, let me try to understand You want to place a wall upon this land, A land that was given like freewill for all to enjoy Now you want to keep certain people out, is that your ploy. You don't want stereotyped people to come onto your side Even when for yours and their freedom, your forefathers had died, So, if they were running and trying to escape from famine or fear That wall you want would stop them, from being here. I now look at you and I feel nothing, but anger and shame And of course your cowardliness isn't alone to blame, I have said before beware of false prophets as they speak But, you listened and believed them, now your constitution is weak. Remember, Russia once built themselves a mighty wall But, I whispered in the ears of men, then the wall did fall, That wall was created to keep the soul and the mind in That wall was created not for protection, but by greed and sin. There once was another wall built to keep people out Around the wall I told my people to sing praise and shout, Then they blew their horns as they marched around the town Then that wall, came falling down. You want a wall placed upon your southern border For freedom and for a better life for yourself, you are a hoarded, Maybe around yourself a wall should also be built To keep in all your judgments and prejudices, and out all your guilt Noah and Moses and my Son by all accounts were all refugees They were hated and unwanted even when they tried to appease, One day soon definitely you and I will meet But, maybe I will place a wall, so you I won't have to see or greet.
