How can you put hope in a box and lock it away
hiding it from your eyes
burying it deep with yourself
never to be uncovered again
Yes it can give false confidence
revealing itself to be a cruel let down
but in that realisation comes a lesson
one that you must learn to grow
It can be a light in the darkness
even if it is proved to be a false dawn
the sun has to rise sooner or later
pushing back the darkness for a while
Do not give up on it my brother
as it still believes in you
if hope did not exist in this world
you would have nothing to fight for
