This policy explains how Versoem processes personal data under Turkish data protection law no. 6698 and the regulations that go with it.

The data we process
- Identity and contact: name, username, e-mail address and, if you choose to add them, city, date of birth, gender and social media addresses.
- Membership activity: likes, reading list, collections, follows, comments, ratings, dictionary answers, club memberships, friendships and blocks.
- Reading data: which poem you read on which day and for how long; the statistics screens are built from these summaries.
- Security: sign-in and last activity times, session details.
- Finance: when a paid plan is bought: invoice number, amount and payment status. Card details never reach our site.
- Contact form: the name, e-mail address, subject and message you send through the form. Deleted within a reasonable time after your request is settled.
- Poet claim: a scan of an identity document, kept in restricted storage and used only to review the claim.
Why we process it
- To create your membership and manage your account
- To serve the archive and build your reading history and statistics
- To apply the community rules, moderate content and settle reports
- To invoice paid plans and meet our accounting obligations
- To send notifications and e-mails
- To keep accounts secure and prevent abuse
Legal basis
We process data to enter into and perform a contract (art. 5/2-c), to meet a legal obligation (art. 5/2-ç), on the basis of legitimate interest (art. 5/2-f) and, where it is needed, with your explicit consent (art. 5/1). Cookies that are not strictly necessary run only with your consent.
Sharing
Your data is never sold for advertising. It is shared only with the parties needed to run the service:
- Our hosting and infrastructure provider
- Our e-mail delivery provider
- The payment provider (only when a paid plan is bought)
- Public authorities, where the law requires it
Retention periods
- Membership data: for as long as the account is open.
- Raw reading records: up to one year depending on your plan; daily summaries are kept permanently.
- Invoices and payment records: ten years, as the law requires.
- Identity documents: deleted within a reasonable time after the claim is settled.
Your rights
Under article 11 of the data protection law you have the right to:
- Learn whether your personal data is being processed and ask for information about it
- Learn why it is processed and whether it is used for that purpose
- Know the third parties, at home or abroad, your data is shared with
- Ask for incomplete or incorrect data to be corrected
- Ask for it to be erased or destroyed
- Ask that any correction, erasure or destruction be passed on to the third parties your data was shared with
- Object to a decision taken against you solely by automated analysis
- Claim compensation for loss caused by unlawful processing
